Bridal Shower - "FALLen in Love" October 30th, 2005 - 4:00 pm Lakes at Highland Clubhouse 883 Grand Lakes Drive Baton Rouge LA Margaret (Kate's Maid of Honor) coordinated this shower, hosted by the attendants. The theme was "FALLen in Love" with gifts focusing on domestic bliss for the soon-to-be-married couple. Most gifts were for the home, such as cookware, flatware and dishes. Of course, a few not-so-traditional items slipped into the mix as well... rose petals for the bath, how-to books, lingerie and the like. Haha! Fall leaves decorated the clubhouse, adorning everything from the invitations to the tabletops. A "Jason and Kate Trivia" game proved to be quite entertaining, but the highlight of the shower was the wedding dress design contest and style show. Guests divided into teams to test their creativity with nothing but toilet paper to work with... and the results were surprisingly good! Theta Brunch - "Sisterly Advice" November 20th, 2005 - 11:00 am Highland Porch 145 Ben Hur Road Baton Rouge LA Attendance was light at this Theta brunch due to the Ole Miss road trip, but Kate's closest sisters showered her with advice and gifts to create a happy home. Each sister received a pair of sterling silver pansy earrings and matching drop as a token of Kate's friendship, and Highland Porch served them a delicious brunch, tea and desserts.

Bachelorette Party - SlumberParties Lingerie etc. December 17th, 2005 - 8:00 pm Julie's house! 2368 Dogwood Avenue Baton Rouge LA Web link Final exams ended at 7:30, and the party began at 8:00! Describing this party on a family website is a challenge, but basically it's like a Tupperware party for bedroom items. Perhaps just look at the link above to figure it out. Kate definitely needed a lot of education in this area, and free-flowing cosmopolitans helped get the party going. From there, Kate was treated to an informative, uninhibited, often hilarious night... Attendants' Luncheon December 18th, 2005 - 1:00 pm Galatoire's Bistro 17451 Perkins Road Baton Rouge LA This luncheon was hosted by Pat Park to honor the wonderful women in our wedding party (bridesmaids and readers). We had hoped to have the luncheon at Galatoire's Restaurant, the French Quarter staple, but it was still closed due to damage from Hurricane Katrina. Luckily, Galatoire's has now opened a second location in Baton Rouge! The food was good, but the company was even better. Here's the menu we were served: Galatoire Goute (family style appetizers of Shrimp Remoulade and Crabmeat Maison), mixed greens with creamy roasted garlic dressing, Roasted Chicken Clemenceau with sauteed vegetables, and Galatoire's banana bread pudding with praline sauce. Yum! At the luncheon, Kate's grandmother presented her with a Lladro figurine, "The Happiest Day," to use as a cake topper, and Kate presented her bridesmaids and readers with their gifts as well. The readers each received expandable Theta scrapbooks, extra papers, stickers, and miscellaneous scrapbooking supplies. The bridesmaids each received a necklace, earrings and bracelet of cut Austrian crystal set in rhodium.

Rehearsal and Dinner January 5th, 2006 - 6:00 pm Broadmoor United Methodist Church / Louis DeAngelo's 10230 Mollylea Drive / 7970 Jefferson Highway Baton Rouge LA RSVP with Jason or Kate The entire wedding party finally met at the wedding rehearsal. Jason hosted a dinner and dessert to honor the wedding party immediately afterward at Louis DeAngelo's on Jefferson Highway. Dressed in cocktail attire, they all looked HOTT as we shared food and friendship... along with a few toasts. Check out the fun from the night in the online photo album!
